Catskill's CD "Heir To The Throne" produced and mixed by Paul Kätsnelson is now hosted by Clinton Sparks, one of the world most known DJs. The CD is now remastered and released in two, first one is original and on the second one Clint Sparks introduces Catskill and most of his songs.

'Paul finished his work on the first album by this awesome heavy band from Winnipeg called Tinnitus at Grassroots sound studios. Paul co-produced, mixed and mastered the album and orchestrated a dark CD intro.

Juliana and Medicine Fish

'Paul mixed and mastered a short indie movie called "Juliana and Medicine Fish". After the tragic death of her mother, Twelve year-old Juliana returns to the majestic Lake of The Woods, where her father owns a tourist lodge and it's about to go bankrupt. In a last-ditch attempt to save the lodge, dad organizes a high-stakes fishing derby. Powerless to help until she finds a legendary musky lurking in the waters around the lodge, Juliana devises a plan to capture it and save the business. But when Juliana seeks the help of an old Ojibway guide, she learns this is an ancient 'medicine fish' with a spirit-essence crucial to the survival of the lake, and all other muskies. Will she capture the mythic beast and save the lodge, or will she allow it to live?

Creating a "Poisonous" chorus..

Starting to work on second Ivy track called 'Poisonous'

The song starts like a spy movie :-) and has a very strange chorus with key change pretty unusual for a pop song and 2 vocal harmonies following it.

This idea came to Paul at home. He played the chorus on his old electric piano choosing the right melody line while 3 years old Alice Kätsnelson started to play with it's 'transpose' slider... She will have special credit on the album cover.

Paul co-produced and mixed debut album for exciting rock band called "Lost Priority" from Wasagamack, Canada. On the surface, this band's heavy fullness is reminiscent of Stained and Three Days Grace, but underneath the layers of heavy melodic vocals, chugging guitars, and hard hitting drums, this band has a sound all their own. Paul started to work on next Sabrina track, "They Don't Know What I Been Thru". He decided to give this tune some motown flavour with piano, strings and brass and spice it up with his electronica arpeggios and cutting-edge beat. Stay tuned!

Paul recently finished mixing "Live by the Drum", an awesome album from Wab Kinew.

Started as a Hip-Hop project and produced by Wab himself in collaboration with Paul, Madeskimo, Gesse Green, J-Mak, Boogey, Acolytes, this project transformed into a fusion bomb of contemporary beats, Aboriginal spiritual heritage and screaming Rock guitars. All recording and mixing done at Strongfront A/V.

Paul recorded and mixed a song called "Dub CNN" with Catskill.The song is a new form of interview, it can be heard on Dub CNN. As usual, Catskill kicks with his jaw-dropper lyrics.

Producing 2 Songs for Jusang

Paul produced and mixed 2 songs, "The Bird" and "Standing In A Forest" from Jusang.

Jusang is a great artist, poet and philosopher from rural Manitoba with North Korean roots. His songs take you to the world of mystery, revealing metaphysical connections between the Human and The Nature. This time Paul brings up psychedelic rock of 70's with his modern "scientific" backgrounds which makes those two songs sound unique.

No Rose Petals and Bubblebaths

Another brilliant song arrived from Sabrina, "No Rose Petals and Bubblebaths"! Paul added some piano licks and 30-ish jazz band on the chorus of this beautiful instrumental track.

Mixing "I Jump, You Jump" produced by Focus from Aftermath Entertainment.

Paul started to mix another great song from Sabrina. This song is called, "I Jump, You Jump", the instrumental was created by Focus, the multi-platinum producer from Aftermath Entertainment.

"Love Me Again" by Sabrina

Paul started to work on Sabrina debut track called "Love Me Again". Based on beat originally produced by Rob Rock, this soulful song received a new groove, analogue bass, piano and string quartet.

Led by Darryl Menow, the band is one of the up and coming acts under StrongFront Records. Produced by hard rock veterans Jesse Green and Mike B (of X-Status fame), Gathering of Flies upcoming CD promises to be the soundtrack to any hard rock weekend of debauchery and Vegas showgirls.

Catskill's CD is ready!

Paul finished producing and mixing "Heir To The Throne" CD by Catskill featuring Bizarre from D12, Moka Only, Natsla and others great artists.

As his name suggests, this Canadian cat is packing a dangerous skill that has the industry whispering the name of this self-described heir to the throne. Put him on exhibit with his swagger and style and you have three weapons of mass destruction bombarding the scene hardcore and causing a bidding war within the industry comparable to the size of World War II, everyone vying to offer this stray cat a home.

Renovations finished

A new production/mixing studio is ready. Design, construction and soundproofing took almost a month, but now it is finally over.

Courtney Jourdain's "Let Go" is ready

Paul produced and mixed a soulful R&B ballad called "Let Go" for Courtney Jourdain, the young model from Thunderbay featuring two generations of great guitarists, Jesse Green on acoustic and Billy Joe Green on blues lead guitar.

This song became Paul's production business card and remains attracting new clients.

After endless negotiations Paul had started to produce and mix 'Heir To The Throne' album for Catskill.

X-Status CD is mixed!

Paul finished mixing X-Status debut album at Strongfront A/V, written, performed and produced by Jesse Green and ignited by three energies: Metal drive, Native spiritual tradition and Techno mystery.

Paul used his special techniques to give a new shape to the lead vocal, which now can be the band's trademark. He did a redesign on the drum concept to make it closer to an aboriginal based sound, created 'tribal singing' from unused vocal takes, and modulated some vocals to make them sound as a whisper, all in all giving the album a new and unique sound which has seen the band receiving great feedback on the album!

Lazy James CD is ready!

Paul finished mixing 'Lazy James', contemporary blues album from J.C. Campbell. One can hear Paul's signature effects (Wino), grooves (grind) and even electronica (Slide)so untypical for a blues album.

Recording Courtney Jourdain

Paul met with Courtney Jourdain at Strongfront A/V, and started to work on her acoustic guitar song called 'Let Go'. Paul suggested to produce this song in R&B..

Discovered by famous producer Jesse Green (now president / ceo of Strongfront A/V) Courtney won a talent contest at the Walker Theatre in Winnipeg in 2003. Since then her talent is being recognized by a wider audience.

'I am not nervous before a performance but I was really nervous before they announced the winner,' Courtney says of the Manitoba contest held in November 'I didn't know what to say; I couldn't say my speech. I was just really happy.' As part of winning the contest, Jourdain won $2,500 and had her song played on the NCI radio network 100 times. She also won the admiration of the 1,600 or so people who heard her sing live that weekend.

'She was the only one who received a standing ovation,' notes her father, Treaty #3 Grand Chief Leon Jourdain.. 'She spent an hour-and-a-half signing autographs; the young people were all over her.'
